Studio

The Art Underground is located in the lower level of 901 Front Street. We have four studios.  The glass foyer and 3 story high glass ceiling leading to the lower level provides natural light to our main dance studios and the atrium waiting area.  We also have a custom visual art studio specially designed to accommodate our visual arts and preschool classes and a newly finished dance studio.

The Main Studio

The location for many of our dance classes and some music and theater classes is the larger Main Studio. A fully sprung, multi-purpose, maple dance floor and mirrors provide a professional dance experience for dancers as well as an inviting environment for theater and music classes.

The Yellow Studio

Based on the increased demand for dance space, the Yellow Studio was recently finished with a fully sprung, multi-purpose, maple dance floor and wall mirrors.  From dance, theatre, music to construction classes, this cheerfully painted space with a glass door provides a high quality space for a variety of classes.

The Orange Studio

The Orange Studio is a multi-purpose space where theater rehearsals, some dance and music classes, kids cooking, our Kindergarten Arts Enrichment program, and birthday party rentals occur.  With big windows on three sides and a sliding glass door, this space has been used in conjunction with the Artrium Waiting Area for larger art showings and parties.

The Art Studio

Former known as the "Create Space", this studio is colorful and creative, with a large art sink. The room promotes flexibility in layout and participants, given a variety of sizes of adjustable height tables, stools and chairs.  The art supply shelves can be covered with colorful fabrics for an inspiring and uplifting space for art, construction, theatre, some dance, and party rentals.

Atrium Waiting Area

Outside of our studios, under the 3 story high glass roof, you will find an open patio with café tables and chairs – a nice spot to wait for children involved in the classes or to relax before or after adult classes. Adjoining the atrium is is our office with information about the activities at The Art Underground and other art opportunities in the area.
