This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness to maintain an OHSMS, to better administer wellbeing and fitness within the employee operational surroundings and additionally provide accommodations for strategy formulation, development, presentation and repetitive enhancement for my corporation (Evans and Lindsay, 2013). Most corporations have had a poor OHSMS which has brought about increased rates of employees suffering from internal and external bodily injuries. In the long-run, the organizational productivity and image become affected due to high employee turnover rates; accumulation of employee compensation payments, legal cases filed by employees and decreased customer numbers who would not want any association with the company.

The following research will be based on a qualitative analysis research study in my workplace to address any lagging gaps in the operational control and safety culture at project sites. The main reason for this is due to the increased safety and health concerns that arise at project sites which most firms tend to ignore. The research conclusion will see the completion of questionnaires and inspection checklist. The data will become tabulated and analyzed to obtain a quotient. Successfully achieve and maintain OHSAS 18001 & SS506 accreditation and BizSafe Star certification.

  - An innovative, vigorous and all-encompassing SMS guidebook and OSH program to become formulated in such a manner that it fits into the firm’s functioning models, scales and as its central working model. - Documented OHS objectives at each relevant function and level are created and maintained to enable the organization to achieve the OHS policy. - Act in accordance with & attain external authorization for an ordinary SMS guidebook to conform to the global, lawful & other necessities.

- Danger documentation, risk mitigation, and assessment procedures and their outcomes to form the foundation of the whole OHS outline. - Resources (comprising expert abilities, organizational structure, know-how, and monetary recourses) are delivered. - External audits for OHSAS 18001 & SS506 accreditation and BizSafe Star certification. - Implementing a positive safety culture in the company. Before the implementation of the Occupational and Health Safety Act, employers did not care about the health and the safety of the employees as they carried out their day-to-day activities at the workplace.

Most companies felt it was the duty of the employees to ensure they maintain their safety and health. The organizations’ main aim before this act was to maximize their profits at the expense of the employees’ well-being. However, the government saw it was important for employers to ensure they took care of their employees’ wellbeing. The passing of the OHS act formed the basis upon which employers started thinking about the health and safety of its labor-force (Makin and Winder, 2008).

The development of the OHSMS thus adhered to the OHS act through providing a systematic and coordinated approach through which employers can maintain the wellbeing of workers. OHSMS is not a separate entity, but instead, it should be part of the entire company’s operations and present in all its departments. A carefully implemented OHSMS will ensure that a firm becomes successful and productive by having employees with a higher percentage of operational capacity and a safe working environment.
