This is rightly so in the sense that when the universities especially those in Canada, provide students with disabilities with the necessary support systems, then the students will be in a better position to learn and excel in their studies. In addition, such students will suffer minimal trauma and low self-esteem (p. 147–160). When it comes to the issue of economic disparities between the normal people and the elderly people with disabilities, Ozawa and Hong point out to the fact that perhaps the negative perception of people with disability is responsible for the same (0P. 238). In this case, the authors determine that people with disabilities tend to secure low paying jobs due to other people’s perception of them and consequently, suffer economic difficulties in their retirement (p. 247). This is perhaps closely related to the perceptions that people develop in schools as Laura and Preyde establish that the students with invisible disabilities have received less attention over the years despite of the fact that they also have unique needs.

In this regard such ignorance leads to the lack of proper identity of people with disabilities and this could affect their performance and hence their wages (p. 147–160). While Dunn and Burcaw give a general view of the identity crisis that crops in in the sphere if disability (p. 148 –157), as Laura and Preyde determine the need for Canadian and other universities to observe the dignity of people with disabilities by treating them fairly as the people without any form of disability. This is especially so in the sense that when students with various forms of disabilities receive the necessary facilities to enable them study well, then they will have equal opportunities in the professional world and in the society (p.
