Sewing Workshops with Lenore

Jan 19: Martin Luther King Day – In honor of Black History Month, we will look at quilting, specifically relating to the Underground Railroad.

February 16: President’s Day – Join us while we make fleece mittens, scarves and hats for those cold winter months. Make as many as you like. Materials included

April 24: Cut up a T-shirt and create a new style. Decorate with fabric dyes and bling!

Knitting Club

6-Week Session
Join us in the Art Underground Atrium for Knitting Club. Instruction for beginning knitters and guest speakers are planned. Lets make a scarf! Parents consider joining your child in this activity!

Basic Jewelry 101 for Middle School-Adults

Come learn basic wirework, forging, sawing and drilling techniques. Create a simple pendent, earrings, and/or key ring. Consider taking this class with your child, as child/parent activity.

Acrylic Painting 101

This class is designed for a student who has an interest in painting, hasn’t done it in a long time and would like to take it up again, or just wants a place to work in the company of others. You will learn about the care of your materials, how to stretch your own canvas, and color theory.

Figure Drawing 101 for Adults

Learn the basic proportion the human head and body. Focus is on leaning how to draw the head and figure. Some work with a model and some work from photographic references. Emphasis is on pencil and charcoal.

Figure Drawing 201 for Adults

Explore the figure and the portrait in color. Emphasis is in pastel and oil pastel. Simple Color theory ideas and realistic flesh tones are a focal point of instruction.

Virgin Painters (Beginning Painting)

Acrylic Painting for all levels; Feels like a studio class with some instruction and demonstration. Each artist develops her/his own level of expertise and experience. Working from still-life set ups and found references.
